Medical/Health
Heat
We are aware that August in Italy can be very hot. We will take extra measures for the competition as well as the venue to accommodate that situation. Considerations include: Heat breaks during games, avoiding games at the hottest hours of the day.
SUN
Please be prepared for a lot of sun. We will work on enough shade opportunities on the sidelines and at the player areas. Sunscreen stations are in the working. Prepare your players to bring hats, umbrellas or cooling boxes.
Water
The tournament will work on providing enough water for everyone and have additional cooling options during the day.
Health
There are always risks associated with playing Ultimate. All event participants (athletes, coaches and team support) must be covered against injuries by insurance provided by National Federations and/or Local Teams to which each participant is affiliated. Professional Medical Doctors and related staff, thoroughly equipped for general first aid, will be present for the tournament week at the field. EUF and the EYUC TOC only provide coverage for participants within the general first aid administered in the fields. EUF and the TOC ask that all players and event participants acknowledge these risks and understand that EUF and the TOC cannot be held liable for any risk or cost associated with injury or bad health at EYUC. All event participants should alleviate some personal financial liability by purchasing your travel and health insurance to make sure they are covered for any medical issues or event cancellations that could arise.
The first aid services are for players, staff, volunteers and spectators. If you are feeling unwell or are injured, please ask for medical advice. In case of urgency, an external ambulance will come to transfer you to the hospital. Venue based first aid vehicles must remain on site for safety reasons.
For serious and life threatening injuries dial 112.
Physio: Physiotherapy service will not be available during the event
COVID
EUF will continue to monitor the impact and effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic and will work with the TOC to follow the advice and recommendations from International health and safety authorities for travel to and from Italy.
